The show juggles dozens of characters and multiple strands with skill, capturing key relationships, such as the friendship between Robert and Ned, in simple gestures and very few words.

It helps that Addy and Bean go way back. Both hail from Yorkshire, the northern English county that prides itself on its bluff, no-nonsense character. They were in different years at the same drama school and co-starred in the dark Yorkshire-set cop series "Red Riding." Laughing easily and frequently during a joint interview, they clearly have a relaxed Alexander Wang Shoes and easy rapport.

"We've had a few pints together," Bean said, with typical Yorkshire understatement.

They had the chance to renew their friendship during a grueling six-month shoot in drizzly Northern Ireland. "Game of Thrones" has a largely British cast, though American actor Peter Dinklage gives a scene-stealing performance as the queen's reprobate elder brother.

"It was hard work," Bean said. "You couldn't afford to be messing around, nobody could be the prima donna. It was tough work and you had to get stuck in.

Men put themselves 'in women's shoes'

And, the discomfort men feel pales in comparison to trauma a girl or woman feels after a sexual assault. An event such as this lets women know men and other women do care, said senior Brandon Hess, a spokesman for the class organizing the walk.

"Survivors of occurrences like this, they don't want to relive the experience; they don't want to talk about it," Hess said.

In front of the David Letterman Building, on a table next to the registration louboutin sale tent, sat several pairs of red pumps in large sizes -- 12, 13, and 14 -- big enough for (at least some) men's feet.

They were big enough for friends and fraternity brothers Malcolm Graham and Lucas Meadows. Both guys put on their red pumps and steeled their minds for the walk. A hip problem kept friend Lincoln Wyatt from wearing a pair, but he walked nonetheless.

"At first I didn't think it would be very hard, but I realized within a few steps this is going to be a really long day," freshman Graham said.

The walk, the guys said, is for a worthwhile cause.
