In paranormal circles, the buzz about town is all about Harry Dresden.
A brand new type of detective with a slight English lilt who likes his
women. He is sometimes egotistical, but most times humble, sweet and
charming, if you catch him in the right mood. But what is so different
about this Chicago Detective?
Could it be his roommate Bob, who you sometimes see and sometimes don't
see? Even Harry admits that Bob can be a real handful at times.
Is it his boss who sees something in Harry but isn't really sure, but
wants to make use of it anyway? Okay, Harry-"Go out there and do
whatever mumbo-jumbo it is you do and get me a suspect."
Or his girl friend who also suspects there's more to Harry than meets
the eye when she asks him, "What is it you do that the cops can't?"
Producers of The Dresden Files say author Jim Butcher
is pleased with how the series is shaping up. "Well, let me say that Jim
Butcher is very happy," said Hans Beimler, a writer and executive
producer of the series.
From across the city to the other side of reality, Harry gets immersed in
all kinds of murder and mayhem, murders and black crimes and manages
to solve them by using a little magic of his own. This is a series that
begins on the SciFi Channel on Sunday night, January 21, 2007 starting
out with "The Trouble With Harry" and is headed for a big hit. They already
have videos and a game out and it hasn't even premiered yet. Harry
Dresden, played by Paul Blackthorne will probably continue to be the talk
of the town in paranormal circles for some time to come.
SCI FI Channel has ordered 11 episodes of The Dresden
Files, a supernatural detective series based on the best-selling novels
of Jim Butcher. All of the Harry Dresdon novels can be found at Amazon
in the Brand Name Shopping Mall.
