The Battle of UCE Ethics Continues…

Many people know that detest Joshua Greenwood, but many people do not fully understand why.  After hearing recently that Joshua decided to falsely accuse me of working with Steve Linford and his band of mafia extortionists, I felt it important to discredit that lie and expose the root of this battle.

I met Joshua Greenwood in 2007 (or so), when he owned a site at www (dot)LoanOfficerList( dot) net, and I purchased a few lists for a client of mine from it.  The lists caused blacklisting on our systems, despite having a good suppression feed.  So, I now had scrubbed data at the cost of a server and called Josh to ask about the 60% bounce rate and .001% open rate.  He swore that he had better data and I disregarded it.

In 2009, I purchased his data once again after a phone call to him for hours.  He asked me about reselling for him and I considered until he told me he wanted $500 a month to sell his data (which I had not seen positive results from).   Then he asked for me to sign a non-compete, though I was a current competitor.  Now that’s got to be the dumbest thing I ever heard of.  So, I completely blew him off.  He told me that, if he saw a piece of data he also owned for sale on my site he would call my data center and tell them he’ll send from my IP’s (how, I don’t know) and they would shut me down.  This is what made it personal.

Now, let’s get into the BS he fed me pre-sale:
He “knew” Frank Kern and that’s how he had the Mass Control and could resell it.
He worked with the developers of IEM Pro and that’s how he had the Nexus and Interspire
His data was fresh…and good…that’s just as bogus as it gets.

Then, what I found later:
He actually recruited unsuspecting new mailers to send his offers of scraped data and stolen software from his servers with his stolen software via email.  Now, we all know what kind of trouble that can cause the unsuspecting reseller (ignorant…but unsuspecting).
He stole his data from various other mailers

He even started by selling his Yahoo Groups Investors data he did not own yet when he didn’t even have the money to buy it.  That just shows his ethics right there.
…and his data has never got any better, plus his server are non-existent…which left all his old server clients with “tough luck” when his “bulletproof” servers got massacred.  Now, he even wants to recruit people to invest in a colo with his plans to form a criminal empire of mailers.  What a dumbass…tell Alan Ralsky we said “hi”!

These are but a few things…but now it goes even further.  After exposing this SOB for who he really is, he attacks me by saying I turned him into Spamhaus…Let me say, I don’t have to turn Joshua Greenwood into Spamhaus, he’s been ROKSO’ed for years, but regardless, it is a fabrication in itself.

So, Joshua, the “Christian Criminal Crusader”, wants to make accusations to damage my pristine reputation in this industry…have at it.  It’s not true and is a response to being exposed with truth.  Spammers like him are the real reason Spamhaus has any influence anyway, but he wants to act all “holier than thou”…get out of here.  He feeds of teaching others how to do illegal “dirty work” while he profits, what kind of morality is that?  Sounds   like Suge Knight to me…..”Welcome to Death Row”

Me, I believe in American Capitalism in a legal and ethical manner.  I am proud to live in a country where the government does not prevent entrepreneurialism, but embraces and supports it, yet regulates it just the same.  I am proud to live in a country where we have local governments that are very capable of regulating local business and economy…and I am proud to be a direct response marketer and data provider.  That does not make me a criminal in any way and I do not consider Joshua a direct competitor because that would be acknowledging that I may be a criminal.  That will never be the case, for I respect the Can-Spam Act as a good document that prevents malicious behavior…Josh is slime and a negative instrument in the progress of email marketing and especially bulk email marketing.

In a world where the recipient of a marketer can and does “fight back”, it is important to use best practices, even if you are sending bulk mail and purchased data.  Send quality ads to a well-targeted market to be relevant, use data that will protect your data center and has opt-in info, send at reasonable rates with clean and bounce-free data, and monitor and correct all abuse and unsubscribes, identify your ad correctly and who and where you are…and that’s really the key…don’t be shady, just be informative and invite your consumers to be in a relationship with you.  If you follow the “Common Sense Rules of Advertising” you will not find yourself in jail, but you will find yourself in wealth.
