Bentley Mulsanne Concept Includes Built-In iPhone 4S Cases and Mac Mini

Bentley Motors revealed a new connectivity concept for its flagship Mulsanne sedan at the Frankfurt Motor Show today. The company built two iPhone 4S Cases with Apple Bluetooth Keyboards into the retractable "picnic tables" mounted in front of both rear passengers, and a 15.6" LCD screen that flips down from the roof of the car.

The additions to the Mulsanne are intended to allow passengers to "conduct business on the move or just unwind between meetings". Alasdair Stewart, Member of the Board for Sales & Marketing, comments:

Many customers use their time in the Mulsanne to keep on top of their business commitments or simply take a few moments to relax. This fully functioning concept highlights the MulsanneĄŻs potential to help busy executives to communicate effectively and quickly whilst travelling. As you would expect from Bentley, all these features work in harmony with the handcrafted cabin and can be displayed or hidden at the userĄŻs discretion.

The concept includes:

Key entertainment and business features

- Two electric-powered, foldable wood veneer picnic tables in the rear cabin, each with Apple iPad and Apple Bluetooth keyboards.
- The twin iPads enable the Apple Media Centre to play video files and music, provide access to personal and work e-mail as well as the internet (via W-Lan).
- Apple Mini Mac stored in boot compartment enables integration of iPhone 4 Cases with Bluetooth keyboard and iPod acts as control panel in rear console.
- Roof console with 15.6 inch High Definition LED dropdown monitor. Plays videos (from both DVD changer and Mac Mini) and watch Television.

Comfort, control and stowage features

- Illuminated rear centre console fitted with twin, individual armrests offers true, spacious 4-seat configuration.
- Rear console also houses Apple iPod (control panel), two cupholders, tissue box and large stowage area.
- Apple iPod controls ¨C Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) and audio system, Apple Media Centre, plays music and access to internet.
- Two USB connectors provided for the Apple system and one Apple interface connector for the iPhone 4 Case.
- Bespoke control keys on rear console operate picnic tables, reading lights, control HD LED screen and select video and audio options.
- Armrest contains Tibaldi pen and Privacy Telephone handset.
- Bespoke bottle cooler in rear centre console with illuminated, double-glazed frosted glass door.
- Additional, multi-directional reading lights are provided for each rear passenger and can be operated with Apple devices.
- Sophisticated mood lighting in the rear centre console (using multiple soft glowing LEDs) ensures the stowage areas are lit and the docking station and cupholders are also illuminated for extra convenience.

Availability and pricing of the concept weren't detailed. The Bentley Mulsanne starts at $291,295.

Apple's Options for North Carolina Fuel Cell Installation Point to Bloom Energy

While Apple has received a fair amount of attention for its planned solar farm at its massive data center in Maiden, Louis Vuitton iPhone 4 Case, the company publicly disclosed less than two weeks ago that it will also be installing the largest non-utility fuel cell farm in the United States to help power the facility.

GigaOm has assessed Apple's options for the 5-megawatt facility, determining that Bloom Energy appears to be Apple's partner in the project. Bloom, which is based in Sunnyvale, California near  Chanel iPhone 4 Case headquarters, is also said to already have "a few" of its fuel cells in operation on Apple's campus.

Bloom offers boxes capable of supplying 100 kW, which could translate into 50 Bloom Boxes being installed at AppleĄŻs data center. Bloom has been in negotiations for similarly large-sized deals in the past, such as its negotiations in Delaware to build a 30 MW fuel cell farm (300 Bloom Boxes), and it has already installed 12 Bloom Boxes at AdobeĄŻs campus in San Jose, Calif.

Apple is also touting the fact that its fuel cells will be run on biogas, and Bloom has substantial experience selling biogas-based fuel cells. Both Adobe and eBay are running their Bloom fuel cells on biogas. Bloom has also been the go-to fuel cell maker for Internet, telecom and computing giantsĄŻ experiments with fuel cells.

The report notes that Chanel iPhone 4S Case options for fuel cell partners are relatively few, with UTC Power's larger fuel cell boxes not cleanly adding up to Apple's stated 5-megawatt capacity for the facility and FuelCell Energy specifically denying that it is working with Apple.

Apple is clearly interested in pursuing alternative energy sources for its facilities, and data centers are popular laboratories for such projects given their energy requirements and their typically rural locations that make it cheaper to dedicate land to energy production. The company already touts that its facilities in Austin, Sacramento, Munich, and Cork are powered by 100% renewable energy sources as part of a broad effort to reduce minimize its environmental impact across its facilities and throughout its products' life cycles.

Sony Tablet S review round-up – is it an iPad 2 beater?

The Sony Tablet S is Sony’s first step into the murky world of iPad 2-rivalling Android tablets, and it’s a fairly distinctive one. The first opinions of the device are in, so we thought we’d round-up what some of the experts think. In case you’ve forgotten – and given the relatively low profile of the release it’s entirely possible – the Sony Tablet S is an unusual-looking Android tablet with fairly usual Android tablet performance. It adopts an odd asymmetric wedge shape, meant to resemble an open book, which makes it both great for typing on a flat surface and – apparently – very comfortable to hold in portrait view thanks to weight being in the ‘spine’. In terms of specs, it runs on the by-now-standard 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 CPU – a solid performer and one that’s received widespread support from app and game developers. It also has a rather uniquely sized 9.4-inch screen. But what do the experts think? YOU SHOULD READ — Sony S1 – why it’s an iPad 2 beater This Is My Next Over on This Is My Next, reviewer Josh Topolsky dug the Sony Tablet S’s “stand out” looks, although he didn’t like the button placement or the slightly cheap build quality (a common theme across the reviews). The reviewer didn’t rate the changes Sony had made to the Android Honeycomb software (which the reviewer says “lacks much in ease of use and cohesion” as it is) either, such as a cheap-looking app browser and an ever-changing keyboard layout. All in all, TIMN noted that “the experience of using the device compared to the iPad 2 is night and day — it never feels completely pleasant or responsive.” Gizmodo Gizmodo was clearly excited to be getting a new Sony toy to play with – which we can understand, given the Japanese brand’s distinguished pedigree of ground-breaking design. After initial reservations over the book-like design, the reviewer warmed to the Sony Tablet S’s looks. He noted that “the heaviest components are moved into the thick part, which shifts the weight toward the strongest part of your hand”. This makes the device feel much lighter than its 600 grams would suggest. Again, though, it’s noted that “the build quality doesn’t seem up to snuff” with a worryingly scratch-attracting screen. In conclusion – it’s “the best Android tablet since the Samsung Galaxy 10.1″, but the implication is that this still places it well behind the iPad 2. SlashGear SlashGear endorses the view that the Sony Tablet S’s unique design is a good thing in a distinctly me-too tablet market, and confirms that the unusual weight distribution results in a device that feels very light. Combined with that sub-standard build quality, though, this lightness makes the tablet feel less than premium. While SlashGear is possibly the most positive about the Sony Tablet S’s software, it does put its finger on the key problem: “Honeycomb still lags behind iOS for tablet-specific apps”. It’s a problem Sony can’t really be blamed for, but it means that its tablet is scrapping with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 for second prize. Conclusion Is the Sony Tablet S an iPad 2 beater, then? To put it bluntly: no. Part of that can be attributed to the device’s slightly naff build quality, but the main reason is that Android Honeycomb simply isn’t as good as iOS for iPad. Until Google sorts that out and app developers start making more tablet-specific apps, any new Android tablet is going to play second fiddle to Apple’s current class leader. Perhaps a better question, then, would be: is the Sony Tablet S a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 beater? The answer isn’t quite so easy, and will depend much on what you want from your Android tab. If you’re after something quirky, easy to hold for long periods and distinct from any other tablet, it seems the Sony Tablet S could be the one for you. cute iPhone 5 Cases pink iPhone 5 Cases black iPhone 5 Cases

iPhone 5 – will it kill Nokia Windows Phone?

The first Nokia Windows Phone has a big enough task on its hands restoring Nokia to the top of the smartphone ladder – that it will launch in the same month as the iPhone 5 makes the job immeasurably tougher. Nokia slipped to third place in the smartphone manufacturer charts during the second quarter of 2011, and you can probably guess the name of the new number one: Apple. Nokia will begin the fightback in earnest in October at the Nokia World event. Taking place on the 26th and 27th of the month, it’s widely expected to be the venue for Nokia’s first Windows Phone device unveiling. YOU SHOULD READ – Why is the UK first for Nokia Windows phone? Enter iPhone 5 It’s make or break time for Nokia and its so-called ‘Sea Ray‘. Which is why the company must me more than a little concerned at all the reports pointing to an early-October release for the iPhone 5. If these reports are to be believed, the next gen Apple smartphone will launch on October 7 – that’s less than a three week gap to the Nokia Windows Phone. Even worse for Nokia, it’s three weeks before the release of the Nokia Windows Phone. If we go by history, the world will be deep in the grip of iPhone fever by that point, with little or no attention paid to any other devices by the mainstream press, regardless of merit. What’s more, Reuters reports that Apple’s planning an initial production run of some 45 million devices. This means there’s unlikely to be the usual chronic shortages that tend to accompany the launch of a new iDevice. No shortages means no frustrated customers looking for an alternative. Sea Ray of light Of course, we shouldn’t be overly pessimistic over Nokia’s Windows Phone debut. There’s been a lot of positive buzz surrounding the Nokia N9, which the first Nokia Windows Phone is set to closely resemble, and the Windows Phone OS has been a critical (if not yet commercial) hit. In particular, the new version of the OS, Windows Phone Mango, has been attracting a lot of praise and attention for its radical improvement on an already very accomplished and unique OS. It’s said to come with around 500 improvements and additions, prompting many to predict that Microsoft will be propelled into the smartphone platform big league with Android and iOS – functionally at least. Riding the crest of this Mango-flavoured wave will be the first Nokia Windows Phone device, which looks set to be tasked with championing the revamped OS and spearheading its push into the market. With Nokia and Microsoft throwing their considerable collective weight behind the device, even Apple will be hard pushed to have October all to itself. iPhone 5 case pouch iPhone 5 battery case thin iPhone 5 Cases

Nokia 703 Windows Phone Mango leak – why it’s no Sea Ray

A new Nokia Windows Phone Mango device has reputedly been leaked, but is the Nokia 703 the much rumoured ‘Sea Ray’, or another device? We fill you in on all the details. According to WMPoweruser, the attached image comes from a leaked operator presentation sheet – in other words, the suggestion is that it’s from Nokia itself, even though it wouldn’t have been meant for public consumption. It certainly looks genuine, and provides some interesting specs on a device we haven’t heard anything about. Here’s why we’re pretty sure it won’t be the main deal come the end of October. Nokia 703 is the name According to the leak, the phone is called the Nokia 703. This is the first clue that what we’re looking at isn’t, in fact, Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone Mango device. Rather, it would appear to be one of the affordable Windows Phone devices Stephen Elop spoke of way back in February. How can we tell from the name? Nokia’s newly introduced naming scheme tells you the class of the device in the first digit, with ’9′ being top of the range. We’re almost certain that the first major Nokia Windows Phone will be just such a 9er – it’s going to be a premium kit of kit, make no mistake. This 703 would appear to fit in with the recently announced Nokia 700 as an upper-mid range device. 3.7-inch LCD screen Our suspicions are only strengthened by the specs listed on the rest of the leaked info sheet. The screen, for example, is a decidedly middle-of-the-range 3.7-inch LCD example. Considering the Nokia N9 has a 3.9-inch AMOLED display, you’d expect the equivalent Windows Phone (the two are aimed at different markets but will share a number of elements) to be the same or better. YOU SHOULD READ — Nokia Sea Ray secrets exposed 8GB storage, 512MB RAM Again, these memory specs suggest a device that’s not quite top of the range. Indeed, the Nokia N9 has double the internal storage (at least) and double the amount of RAM of this supposed Nokia 703, suggesting that the Nokia 900-series device we’re all expecting to named as the leading Nokia Windows Phone device will contain something similar. 5-megapixel camera It’s quite possible that the top-end Nokia Windows Phone will come with a 5-megapixel camera – the Nokia N9 has one after all – but we wouldn’t be surprised if Nokia sneaked in an 8-megapixel snapper. After all, the HTC Omega – HTC’s entry-level Windows Phone Mango device – is said to have an 8-megapixel camera, and you suspect both Nokia and Microsoft would want the ‘Sea Ray’ to be the alpha male of the new Mango pack. 112 x 60.8 x 12.3 mm There’s nothing massively telling in the size of the Nokia 703, but it’s interesting to once again use the Nokia N9 as a rough template for what a top-end Nokia Windows Phone would look like. The N9 is four millimetres longer, just under two millimetres wider yet a fraction lighter than the Nokia 703 – all signs that the 703 isn’t quite the best that Nokia can produce. Launching November 27 What are we to make of the claim that the Nokia 703 is set to launch on November 27? It’s widely held that Nokia will unveil its first Nokia Windows Phone at Nokia World 2011 on October 26-27. This would suggest that Nokia will be unveiling more than one device at the event, and that there might be a simultaneous launch for the new range exactly a month later. Of course, the true ‘Sea Ray’ device could have a date to itself at an earlier point, but we can be reasonably assured that we’ll be seeing a Nokia Windows Phone on the market between October 27 and November 27. HTC Evo 3D bootloader – Revolutionary vs official fix

The HTC Evo 3D is one of the many HTC devices to benefit from the recent Revolutionary security bypass tool, but in recent days HTC has also stepped forward with more information on its official bootloader fix. Read on to find out more. Revolutionary fix Like the HTC Sensation, the HTC Evo 3D has had its troublesome security measures bypassed by the Revolutionary fix from unrevoked and AlphaRev. Indeed, these two devices get their NAND write protection permanently unlocked by the fix. This allows the installation of a custom recovery file and, in turn, custom ROMs. The reason these two devices have been singled out for special attention is that HTC took the unusual (for the company) step of locking their bootloaders. This made gaining root access to and customising the HTC Evo 3D a bit of a bind to say the least. After a bit of an outcry from mod-happy fans, HTC promised to fix the issue, but the delay was too much for some to take – hence the fanfare with which Revolutionary was greeted. It might not be a complete one-stop root solution, but it is one of the simplest and most effective ways to bypass HTC’s locked bootloader. The process itself is a simple case of uninstalling HTC Sync from your computer, downloading a few files, following the instructions and filling in a couple of details in a web form. No special knowledge or coding skill is required, which is part of the appeal. You can learn more in the Revolutionary documentation here. YOU SHOULD READ — HTC Sensation bootloader unlocked by Revolutionary Official HTC fix Perhaps unsurprisingly, the community-sensitive HTC responded to the launch of Revolutionary with a statement of its own. Over on Facebook (which has been the source of all the company’s updates on this topic) HTC recently announced that it was “making progress toward our goal to roll out the first software updates in August to support unlocking”, first for the HTC Sensation, then for the HTC Evo 3D. HTC also revealed that brand new HTC Evo 3D handsets would continue to ship with locked bootloaders – so this after-market fix will have to be applied to every one. Why? Because HTC says that the bootloader fix “may cause operation, security and experience issues”. Indeed, the web tool that will form this solution “requires that you register an account with a valid e-mail address and accept legal disclaimers that unlocking may void all or parts of your warranty”. So despite this being an official fix, using it may well void your warranty. Go figure. You’ll then need to obtain a “device identifier token” by plugging your phone into a computer with the Android SDK installed on it (which can be obtained here). Feed this token into the web tool and you’ll be emailed your unique unlock key. Which to choose So which method is preferable for would-be HTC Evo 3D customisers? Obviously the Revolutionary fix has the benefit of being out now, but if HTC is true to its word it’ll have the official solution out within four weeks. Still, we can’t say that the official fix is considerably more secure – if something goes wrong, you won’t be able to fall back on your warranty with either tool. Naturally, though, the official method is likely to be the more solid and reliable of the two. Of course, the official bootloader fix doesn’t open your HTC Evo 3D up to the same extent as Revolutionary, which comes with an optional custom recovery installation to get you on the road to rootdom. With the official HTC fix you’ll still have to go rooting around (pun intended) for the unofficial software with which to gain root access. wooden iPhone 5 Cases luxury iPhone 5 Cases cool iPhone 5 Cases wood iPhone 5 Cases custom iPhone 5 Cases thin iPhone 5 Cases speck iPhone 5 Cases unique iPhone 5 Cases top iPhone 5 Cases cartoon iPhone 5 Cases iPhone 5 armbands black iPhone 5 cases iPhone 5 pouch iPhone 5 bumpers

Samsung Galaxy 3D vs LG Optimus 3D

The LG Optimus 3D was the first high-end Android phone to chance its hand with glasses-free 3D tech, and now the rumours have it that the Samsung Galaxy 3D will join it at some point in the near future. We compare what’s known about it with the well established LG device. Display Samsung Galaxy 3D – 4.3-inch 3D display, 800 x 480 resolution LG Optimus 3D – 4.3-inch 3D LCD IPS display, 800 x 480 resolution It’s not known exactly what the Samsung Galaxy 3D will use for its display, but it’s reported that it will be a 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 display. This makes it sound very similar indeed to the LG Optimus 3D’s display. The deciding factor will be whether Samsung can get its Super AMOLED technology to work as a glasses-free display. More likely will be a lesser LCD display – which would raise the question (in our minds at least) of whether 3D is worth it? Power Samsung Galaxy 3D – 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos processor, ARM Mali-400 MP GPU LG Optimus 3D – 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP4430 CPU, PowerVR SGX540 GPU It’s expected that the Samsung Galaxy 3D will feature the same processor as that found in Samsung Galaxy S 2 (with which it apparently shares a great deal). That means a highly capable 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos CPU and ARM Mali-400 MP GPU – a set-up that will outgun the LG Optimus 3D in raw power, if not in widespread support from app and game developers. Storage Samsung Galaxy 3D – Unknown internal storage, 1GB RAM LG Optimus 3D – 8GB internal storage, microSD up to 32GB, 512MB RAM We would assume that the Samsung Galaxy 3D will feature the same storage as the Samsung Galaxy S 2 with which it’s likely to share so much (hence its use in the picture), which would mean either 16GB or 32GB. This would be a considerable advance on the LG Optimus 3D’s 8GB. The RAM quota of the Samsung device is also said to be double. YOU SHOULD READ — LG Optimus 3D review Operating system Samsung Galaxy 3D – Android 2.3, TouchWiz UI LG Optimus 3D – Android 2.2, LG 3D UI The LG Optimus 3D ships with Android 2.2, which isn’t the most up to date version of the Google OS. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy 3D will apparently ship with Android 2.3, which is the most current version. We prefer Samsung’s custom UI tweaks to LGs, but neither effort is particularly welcome. Camera Samsung Galaxy 3D – 8-megapixel dual-lens 3D camera, LED flash, LG Optimus 3D – 5-megapixel dual-lens 3D camera, LED flash Both handsets feature (or will feature, in the case of the Samsung) dual-lens cameras for 3D pictures and videos, but the Samsung Galaxy 3D will have an 8-megapixel example next to the LG Optimus 3D’s 5-megapixel snapper. iPhone 5 cases iPhone 5 skins cheap iPhone 5 Cases iPhone 5 screen protector pink iPhone 5 Cases white iPhone 5 Cases iPhone 5 sleeve iPhone 5 flip cases

Preorders of Apple's iPhone 4 break Verizon sales record in 2 hours

Verizon on Friday declared that presales of the iPhone 4 exceeded any other launch in the company's history in just the first two hours, though the carrier declined to provide actual sales figures. "This was an exciting day," said Dan Mead, president and chief executive officer for Verizon Wireless. "In just our first two hours, we had already sold more phones than any first day launch in our history. "And, when you consider these initial orders were placed between the hours of 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., it is an incredible success story. It is gratifying to know that our customers responded so enthusiastically to this exclusive offer -- designed to reward them for their loyalty." Though Verizon didn't provide any specific sales figures, analyst Mike Abramsky with RBC Capital Markets issued a brief note to investors in which he said the "limited" pre-order availability was likely restricted to less than 100,000. For comparison, the Motorola Droid, when it launched in 2009, was estimated to have sold 100,000 in its first weekend, while the GSM iPhone 4 sold 1.7 million in its first three days of availability last June. Verizon and Apple stopped taking preorders at 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, just over 17 hours after existing Verizon customers were first able to place an order. It marked the most successful sales day in the company's history. "I am proud of our employees who worked tirelessly to strengthen and scale our systems, enabling unprecedented customer orders through our website," Mead said. "Overall, it was a very good day." He also reminded customers that they will have another opportunity to order the CDMA iPhone 4 when it launches on Feb. 10 at 7 a.m. local time in Apple's U.S. retail stores and more than 2,000 Verizon Wireless Communication Stores. On Feb. 9, all qualified customers will be able to order a Verizon iPhone 4 through the Apple online store for delivery or in-store pick-up beginning Feb. 10. "Yesterday's launch set the pace for next week when we open up sales to everyone across America," Mead said.
