Home security is the most important thing for the individuals who are living in that home. Security is the degree of protection against danger, damage, loss, and crime. Security is a major concern for many people. Everyone wants to feel that their house, building or business is safe. They want to feel safe while they are asleep and feel as if someone is watching over their building and belongings while they are gone. In order to keep that level of security, many people will turn to a security systems to back up their feeling of security. Security as a form of protection is structures and processes that provide or improve security as a condition. There are various ways to secure home like; one can keep security guard and put up security systems in house.  With these ways one can access control over the security of the house.

Types of alarms

Burglar alarm: these alarms are systems designed to detect unauthorized entry into a building or area. They consist of an array of sensors, a control panel and alerting system, and interconnections. Sensors detect intruders by many methods such as monitoring door and window contacts, by passive infrared motion detectors, ultrasound, vibration, electric or magnetic fields, or microwaves. Sensors may be directly wired to a control panel that provides sensor power, or may communicate wirelessly. 

Video surveillance: The word surveillance may be applied to observation from a distance by means of electronic equipment (such as CCTV cameras), or interception of electronically transmitted information (such as Internet traffic or phone calls). Video surveillance is used for the purpose of observing an area. They are often connected to a recording device, IP Network, and/or watched by a security guard/ law enforcement officer. 

Fire alarms: An automatic fire alarm system is designed to detect the unwanted presence of fire by monitoring environmental changes associated with combustion. In general, a fire alarm system is classified as either automatically actuated, manually actuated, or both. Automatic fire alarm systems are intended to notify the building occupants to evacuate in the event of a fire or other emergency, report the event to an off-premises location in order to summon emergency services, and to prepare the structure and associated systems to control the spread of fire and smoke.

Medical alert system: A medical alarm is an alarm system designed to signal the presence of a hazard requiring urgent attention and to summon emergency medical personnel. Other terms for a medical alarm are Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) or medical alert.
