6/13/2011 - Do you like going to have a picnic?
A picnic is a pleasure trip in which
food is taken to be eaten somewhere outdoors. It can either include or exclude
barbecue. It can be on the beach, on the river bank or even in the woods. No
matter where it takes place, it brings great joy.
For a picnic to be well organized, you should first prepare
the necessary foods, including meat, bread, drinks and so on. Of course the
picnic basket should also be taken into consideration. In addition, you should
bring with you several disposable pieces of plastic tablecloth, which can serve
as the table when spread out on the ground. If you plan to have a barbecue at
the same time, you should also prepare where to buy wow gold safely
a grill and fuel. Generally, the most desirable fuel is charcoal. It is a good
fuel to use in the grill because it burns slowly and gives off great heat. You
should also bring some slender pointed pieces of bamboo or iron so that small
pieces of meat can be strung together for easy cooking.
The material preparation above is necessary, but it is not
enough. Another important thing to think about is' how to dispose available
manpower for the activity properly. In other words, you should appoint
different people to be the leaders in charge of different things so that when
the picnic begins, they can have a good cooperation, thus making the activity
smooth and pleasant.
There is one more thing which you can never forget. You
should always be buy wow
gold aware of the need to protect the
environment. To achieve this, you should avoid making a fire under the trees
that can easily catch fire. At the same time, when the picnic comes to an end,
collect the waste and throw it in the rubbish heap.

6/9/2011 - Female leisure time less than men
Men enjoy half an hour more of
leisure time each day than women, a report claims.
¡¡¡¡The
international survey found that men spent longer watching television, meeting
friends, playing sport or pursuing hobbies than the fairer sex.
¡¡¡¡The
Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development, made up of the world's
richest nations, said that British men ranked close behind France and America
in the league table of countries where women work harder than men.
¡¡¡¡The
report, released to mark International Women's Day, called for greater equality
for women.
¡¡¡¡It
said that "governments and firms need to buy wow gold cheapest
do more to tackle the gender equality gap."
¡¡¡¡Previous
OECD reports have suggested that the difference may be more to do with how each
sex chooses to spend its time which was not taken into account in the new
report.
¡¡¡¡The
OECD concluded that shopping, soaking in the bath, grooming, having a lie-in or
taking a long lunch all count as work rather than leisure.
¡¡¡¡If
these are taken into account British men have only 10 minutes more spare time a
day than women.
¡¡¡¡The
report said: "Men universally report spending more time in activities
counted as leisure than women. Gender differences in leisure time are wide
across OECD countries."
¡¡¡¡The
32-minute leisure advantage for men in Britain compares with 38 minutes in the
US, 33 minutes in France, 50 minutes in Belgium and 22 minutes in Germany.
¡¡¡¡Italian
men spend nearly 80 minutes a day more than women on leisure time.
¡¡¡¡Across
the OECD countries, 62 per cent of women have jobs, and women earn wow gold
a fifth less than men, said the Daily Mail.
¡¡¡¡Officials
said the gap was a result of women taking time off work to concentrate on
bringing up their children.

6/9/2011 - Four lifestyles let Americans turn reduced since life
Life expectancy is rising in much
of the world. But doctors are seeing another trend that is disturbing. Some
people are choosing lifestyles that contribute to early death. A new U.S. study
looks at four lifestyle choices that prevent people from staying healthy and
living longer.
¡¡¡¡It used to be rare for people to
live to 100. But babies born in the U.S. today can hope to live that long.
¡¡¡¡In the 20th century, life
expectancy in wealthy nations increased by as much as 30 years. Average life
expectancy for Americans is 78.
¡¡¡¡But doctors are seeing people
adopt bad habits that can cut their lives short....like eating too much or
eating too much junk food, exercising too little and smoking cigarettes.
¡¡¡¡These habits increase the risk
for cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
¡¡¡¡Researchers at Harvard University
and the University of Washington wanted to find out how many years are lost
with these lifestyle choices.
¡¡¡¡"What we found was that high
blood pressure, smoking, overweight/obesity cheap
wow gold and high blood glucose account
for five years of loss of life expectancy in men and about four years in women
at the national level," Goodarz Danaei, one of the principal researchers
said.
¡¡¡¡The researchers broke down the
data into race, income and locale and they found even greater differences.
¡¡¡¡Middle-income whites have the
best blood pressure. But Asian-Americans have fewer bad habits and the best
health.
¡¡¡¡"They are not getting heart
disease because of low blood pressure, they are not getting cancer because they
have low risk factors for cancer, including smoking," Danaei said.
¡¡¡¡The researchers found a 14-year
difference in life expectancy between Asian-American and African-American men
who can expect to live an average of 67 years.
¡¡¡¡"African-American men in the
south have the lowest life expectancy, along with African-American men living
in high-risk urban areas, where
can I buy wow gold£¬places like downtown Los
Angeles," Danaei explained.
¡¡¡¡African-American women are
another group with low life expectancy because of their high rates of obesity.
¡¡¡¡People battling excess weight
have higher rates of disability, diabetes and heart disease - disorders that
make them sicker at younger ages and dependent on medications for many years.
¡¡¡¡The researchers say public health
officials could use the study to plan programs that will help people make
better lifestyle choices.

6/9/2011 - Hottest Pepper on Earth - Got Milk
Bhut
Jolokia (also known as ¡°Ghost Peppe¡± or Naga jolokia or Nai Mirris (Cobra
Chilli)) is the hottest pepper in the world.
Being the (brazen) adventurist
that I am, I have tried the hottest pepper on earth. Introduced to me as the
Ghost Pepper, I came to find out this hot lil, devil vegetable goes by many
scary and hard to pronounce names, and is damn hot.
My first and only experience with
the ghost pepper was one to remember. One random Friday evening I was dining at
a delicious Indian food restaurant (Red Fort) in Torrance, CA. The
owner/manager of the restaurant (a gregarious and delightful man) came over to
our table with a pair of scissors and a plastic bag of something. Having
already expressed my love for spicy foods earlier in the evening, the owner
asked me if I wanted to try a "very spicy pepper". Of course the
"fearless and daring" side of my personality perked up and I said
"YES"!!
To back up for a minute, I like
Sriracha and where
to buy wow gold Tabasco
sauce...not all spicy foods, so for me to declare with gusto that I like spicy
foods (as though I am some spicy food aficionado) is idiotic of me.
The owner then proceeded to snip
off a tiny speck of the pepper, put it on a napkin and allow me to proceed at
my own risk. The scissors and plastic bag should have tipped me off as to how
hot this pepper is, but I continued to place that tiny piece of pepper onto my
tongue without hesitation.
After putting the speck of ghost
pepper (size of a sprinkle) on my tongue, a burning sensation filled my mouth.
After 10 seconds, I felt like the pepper was actually boring a hole directly
through my tongue. Needless to say, I took the pepper immediately out of my
mouth and started gulping red wine (to no alleviation). The burning, searing
sensation lasted a good 30 minutes after the pepper was out of my mouth. After
the pepper wow
gold was
crumpled in a napkin at my table, the owner came over and handed me his IPhone.
On the screen a video was playing (below: Youtube video) of a man who put a
piece of the intestinal track of the ghost pepper in his mouth. I seriously
suggest you check this video out; great entertainment/warning.
The Ghost Pepper is not something
to mess around with. It is the hottest pepper in the world.

6/3/2011 - The Danger of Overconfidence
There is an interesting
lecture on Behavioral Finance by Yale professor Robert Shiller. In it, he spoke
about how people tend to be overconfident. They overestimate their ability to
perform. It happens not just in the financial world, but also in our daily
life. One example Robert Shiller gave is that students tend to overestimate how
their college¡¯s team will perform in a match against other college.
¡¡¡¡Overconfidence
I have an experience with overconfidence myself. A few years ago, I and some
friends worked on a software project. We estimated that we could finish the
project in three months. Do you know how much time it eventually took? Fourteen
months! That shows how I and my team underestimated the complexity of the
project and overestimated our ability to handle it. RS Gold
¡¡¡¡So,
overconfidence is a common problem. Being pessimistic isn¡¯t good, of course.
But being overconfident isn¡¯t good either. Here are two reasons why:
¡¡¡¡1. You
may fail to deliver on your promise Runescape
Gold
¡¡¡¡That¡¯s
what happened to me and my team. We failed badly to deliver on our promise.
That lesson taught me to be more careful and realistic next time.
¡¡¡¡2. You
may blame yourself too much
¡¡¡¡This is
the other side of being overconfident. When you are overconfident about
something and fail, you may blame yourself too much for the outcome. Robert Shiller
mentioned a finding in Searching for a Corporate Savior about how companies
often fired their CEOs who didn¡¯t perform as expected even when the entire
industry actually declined. The CEO couldn¡¯t be blamed for an industry-wide
problem, but the board ¨C who had initially been overconfident with the ability
of the ¡°charismatic¡± CEO ¨C still put the blame on him. This happens at
individual level too. You may put all the blame on yourself which make it
difficult for you to move forward.

6/3/2011 - What Children Can Teach Their Parents
Every
parent has experienced the phenomena of their child begging for their favorite
story to be read, their favorite song to be played or their favorite movie to
be watched for the 100th time.
¡¡¡¡Even
though we adults might be tempted to hide the favorite book or introduce a new
book, CD, or DVD, we must stop ourselves because our children are actually
teaching us a huge lesson about how they want and need to be parented. RS Gold
¡¡¡¡When
our children repeat a request for their favorite story to be read, it is
because they have an innate interest in ¡®mastery¡¯.
Of course they love to explore new toys, corners, books and movies, but once
the all-important excitement of discovery has occurred, children set out to
¡®master¡¯ the things that interest them the most.
¡¡¡¡Mastery
occurs through repetition. Young children are driven to discover and then
master all aspects of their world. Runescape
Gold
¡¡¡¡Discipline
is another area in which children innately crave mastery. Children test their
parents because they are trying to figure out how their world works and what is
acceptable behavior. While they do their research they do things consciously
and unconsciously to investigate their world and its limits so that they are
able to ¡®master¡¯ it.
¡¡¡¡The
best thing parents can do is to learn a simple methodology for discipline, get
trained to use it and then apply it consistently. This will decrease the number
of times their child needs to test and will diminish the intensity of the
testing. Children, whose parents often use different strategies, use bribes or
threats become very confused and unsure of themselves. It is for this reason
that many parenting experts say that discipline makes children feel safe and
secure.
¡¡¡¡One can
liken children¡¯s feelings to the experience of hiking down a trail with very
few trail signs or markers. It¡¯s confusing! Without clear signals to keep one
on course, one is more likely to make wrong turns and get into trouble. This is
what it¡¯s like for children as they try to learn the path of acceptable
behavior. When limits are unclear or inconsistent, children often steer off
course and get into trouble, thus making mastery of acceptable behavior very
difficult and unsettling.
¡¡¡¡So, as
you spend time with your child, remember what it is that they crave the most¡mastery.
Let¡¯s be conscious of this and then make a decision to help them master their
world with confidence and ease.

6/3/2011 - Counting Sheep Counteracts Sleep
Has
anyone actually tried counting sheep to fall asleep? Well, I have, and let me
tell you: it doesn¡¯t work. I can last for about fifteen sheep before my brain
loses interest and switches back to whatever thought or worry was keeping me up
in the first place. The act of counting sheep is synonymous with sleep
promotion in our culture, along with drinking warm milk and taking a hot
shower. Nobody¡¯s quite sure how that happened; it might stem from shepherds of
the olden days keeping track of their flocks before bedtime. But regardless of
the concept¡¯s origins, the fact remains that counting sheep won¡¯t help a bout
of insomnia pass. In fact, it might even exacerbate the problem. RS Gold
Oxford
University researchers designed a study in 2002 to figure out what presleep
behaviors best encourages sleep. They asked forty-one insomniacs do one of
three things before trying to sleep: count sheep, imagine a peaceful scene, or
go about their usual presleep routine (in other words, think about anything).
Those who concentrated on relaxing imagery fell asleep an average of twenty
minutes earlier than on any other night during the study. When they counted
sheep or engaged in normal thought patterns beforehand, it took them longer to
fall asleep. A later study at Oxford (this one conducted in 2003) found that
insomniacs tend to think of more unpleasant images than people without chronic
sleep problems, which might be why they have trouble relaxing enough to fall
asleep. If you compare these results with those of the 2002 study, it would
seem that counting sheep can be just as troublesome to your sleeping self as
anxious thinking. Runescape Gold

5/30/2011 - Positive Life Changes for fall
Seasons are not meant to be static, and
neither are people. We are at our best when we are open to new ideas, flexible
to life¡¯s curves, and willing to get out of our own comfort zones. Here are
four ideas to shake up our usual routines all for the better.
¡¡1.
Change your usual interests and hobbies. Of course, this is why it¡¯s so
important to change up the people you¡¯re surrounded by; meeting interesting
people is one of the best ways to expose yourself to fields of interest you may
have otherwise never encountered or thought of learning about. Another easy way
to change up your usual interests and hobbies is to browse magazines at your
local bookstore. Runescape
GP
¡¡2.
Change your style. No, you don¡¯t have to buy a whole new wardrobe to do this.
It can be a matter of combining tops and bottoms in unusual ways, doing jewelry
swaps with your girlfriends, or simply being a little more daring with your
colors of eye shadow, lipstick, and nail polish.
¡¡3.
Change your home environment. That painting you¡¯ve been meaning to hang up for
the last few months? Do it. And while you¡¯re at it, unclutter your unwanted
stuff and donate it to charity. Add a potted basil plant and some freshly cut
gerberas, while you¡¯re at it. Home environments need new energy, too. Runescape Gold
¡¡4.
Change what is stagnant about your work. Hate your job? In the wrong field?
Quit. Love your job but getting bored? Challenge yourself, ask for bigger
projects, change your attitude, do something. Just don¡¯t do the same thing you¡¯ve
been doing for the last few months or years that¡¯s been making you bored in the
first place.

5/30/2011 - Is Your Television Making You Fat
TV is the most popular leisure activity
in the United States, Australia, and Great Britain. That¡¯s good for the TV
networks, but bad for us. A new study suggests that all that time in front of
the tube is becoming a health concern. Being a television watching couch potato
may be partially to blame for weight gain, high blood pressure, and heart
disease risk. Past studies have shown that people who watch a lot of TV are
more likely to have metabolic syndrome than people who watch less TV. RS GP
The study collected information from thousands of Australians about
their health and lifestyles£¬
then collected the same data from these subjects five years later in order to
identify any changes. The researchers for the TV study picked almost 4,000
individuals from the larger survey, all over 25 years of age. They divided the
people into two groups: those whose TV-watching increased over five years and
those whose TV-watching remained the same. The symptoms of metabolic syndrome
were then compared between the groups.
RS2
Gold
The
results showed that an increase in TV-watching does have an unhealthy effect.
For both men and women, people who increased their TV viewing similarly
increased their waistlines. Meanwhile, women who watched more TV also developed
higher blood pressure than women who watched the same amount as before.
Interestingly, these factors were not affected by exercise£ºeven
those who exercised more after five years showed increased signs of metabolic
syndrome if they watched more TV. As tempting as it is to relax in front of the
television after a hard day, it won¡¯t do you any favors in the long run. You
already know to limit your kids¡¯ TV time, so follow some of your own advice.
Get off the couch, turn off the TV£¬and
be active£º Your
health is more important than any sitcom episode.
