Horses have fascinated people of all ages since times unknown, and there was a time when they were one of the only means of transport, usually used by the rich and the wealthy while the poorer ones had to do with walking or going by bullock carts. Kids especially, love horses and till today you have ample amount of people standing with their horses, outside children’s parks, giving children a horse ride usually free or chargeable at a very low rate. Many of these children also grow up to become passionate horse riders and horse racers, with some of them growing up to become professional horse racers or jockeys and participating in big time horse racing festivals like the Cheltenham Festival. Speaking of the Cheltenham Festival, it is one horse racing event that is worth seeing and enjoying, and is only held once a year in UK, usually in March.

The Cheltenham Festival, also called the National Hunt Meeting, started off back in 1860 when an event called the National Hunt Chase was first held in Market Harborough. This National hunt chase was also called the Grand National Hunt and featured one horse race along with other steeple chases. Over time this race was held in different locations and returned to Cheltenham around 1905. It was again held in different areas and returned to Prestbury Park, Cheltenham in 1911 and has returned there till date and is known as the Cheltenham Festival. It has a lot of different races and a huge amount of bets are placed on the horses and the racers as well.
